Matt was born in Roseburg, grew up in Eugene and now lives in Sweet Home. He has been playing and coaching tennis in Oregon for the last decade. He loves competing in open tournaments throughout the PNW, serve and volleying his way to over 15 titles! As a junior, he won district championships three years in a row, and state championships twice playing for Churchill High School, and even had an undefeated senior year in doubles.
His work history includes coaching as a teaching pro at Eugene YMCA, Umpqua Valley Tennis Club, as well as head coach at his alma mater, Churchill High School, and assistant coaching at Willamette University for both men’s and women’s teams. Matt has taught multiple state champions and recreational players, always looking to help them draw out the best of their abilities. He places an emphasis on making tennis intuitive and fun for students.
“I’m excited to be in Albany, where I took my first tennis lesson from former pro, Pannhara Ma, and hope to see you all out on the courts!”
