Chris has been a USPTA Elite Pro for over 20 years. He began teaching tennis at the age of 15 as an assistant Pro at Palos Verdes Tennis Club in SoCal. As a coach Christopher has coached almost all ages and levels. Previously he has coached at Saddlebrook in Florida and before that at West End in SoCal as an assistant to Robert Lansdorp at Landsdorp’s Junior Academy where future world #1’s P. Sampras and L. Davenport were in attendance.
As a player Chris earned honors at High School and College levels. Later, Christopher had a world ATP ranking of about 500 (singles) with only about 1 year total play. Among his notable singles wins he beat Australian tennis legend M. Woodeforde; and , in doubles reached the final of an ATP tournament. More recently here in the Pacific Northwest when he competed he was Men’s Singles 45+ State Champ 2 yrs in a row played at the historic Irvington Tennis Club in Portland.
Helping people enjoy tennis , learn and move toward their potential and/or personal goals is what Chris is about. In the last 10 years he has coached juniors and adults locally helping all his students- some of which have been Oregon H.S. State champs and he helped coach a local player to be National Runner-up at the Senior Tennis Games. Chris is honored to coach players of almost all ages and all levels at ATC.
