Limited Indoor Court Re-opening

Beginning Friday, January 29th, the State of Oregon is modifying the restrictions on indoor recreation facilities in counties under the extreme risk designation.  This will allow the club to open play on the indoor courts on a limited basis.  The new regulations allow no more than six people in the facility at a time (exclusive of the tennis pro).  After consulting with Linn County, we are going to move forward with the assumption that courts 1&2, and court 3 represent two unique “facilities”.  This will allow six players in each building.

Here is the plan:

Masks are required at all times inside the club.  On court and off.  The distancing and hygiene rules that we are all too familiar with must also be adhered to.  All players entering the facility must register ahead of time.  Non-players should not be brought to the club at this time.

Tennis lessons will move indoors.  This includes the junior program, adult classes, and private lessons.

Tennis

  • Court 1 will be open for singles play or ball machine use only.
  • Court 2 will be open to doubles play only, unless reserved on the day of play for singles (open court).
  • Court 3 will be open for tennis for teaching only.  Otherwise, court 3 will be used exclusively for pickleball.
  • Outdoor courts 4-6 remain available for reservation.

Pickleball

  • Only pickleball courts 1 and 2 will be available for indoor reservation.  Court 2 will be limited to singles play.
  • Pickleball events will be limited to six participants.  For the time being, the events will be shortened to 1 ½ or 2 hours to allow more playing opportunities.
  • Courts 3 and 4 are available for outdoor reservation.  The courts are on the westerly-most outdoor tennis court.

Since the restrictions are facility-wide, the upstairs lounge will be closed during this time.

Please continue to use the gate on 27th Ave. to access the outdoor courts (code=4030).  Do not enter the indoor facility unless necessary.

We are optimistic that the continuing decline in Covid-19 cases will move the county into a lower risk category in a couple of weeks.  This would ease the restrictions further.

If we receive updated guidance from the state or county these plans may need to be adjusted.
