Notice of 2019 Annual Meeting

January 27th @ 6:30 pm in the club lounge


The ATC Board of Directors has scheduled the ATC 2019 Annual Meeting on Monday, January 27th at 6:30 pm in the club upstairs lounge. All members are encouraged to attend. The meeting agenda includes a report on the state of the club, election of new board members, and questions from members.

ATC ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
1/27/2020

Call to order at 6.30pm. 12 members present, including some board members.

  1. The club’s financial statements were reviewed. We operated at – $1,506 for 2019, which is a $3,000 improvement over 2018. The club made significant improvements this year, including a water station outside court 3 and Pickleball lines on the outdoor courts and LED tube light bulbs on the interior courts.
  2. The club has cash reserves of approximately $30,000
  3. The budget for 2020 is favorable with an expected profit of $11,633 for the year, including $6,000 into the facilities account for repairs and maintenance. Repairs to the roof on courts 1 and 2 will be required and also the swimming pool heating system will eventually need replacing. A facilities charge will be initiated this year for Summer memberships.
  4. Member, Tom Cutsforth is working with Umpqua Bank to see if the club will qualify for a consolidation loan of the mortgage and lighting liability loans.
  5. New members Dean Elliott, Andrew Koll and Barb Schmitz were voted in to replace outgoing members Mike Wilson, Eric Howard and President Glenn Edwards.
    Werner Evans is president pro-tem.
  6. Managers Report: Chip Blackmon
  • Chip said even though many members are “aging out”, the club had a net +3 total for the year with 74 memberships, including families.
  • 2019 brought in 63 Summer memberships. Sherry Watkins did an excellent job of building the programme and we had record numbers in swim classes.
  • The junior programme currently has 40 players in various classes. We can expect 60-70 junior members during the high school tennis season.
  • WAHS will be using our outdoor facility again this Spring from 3/2/2020-5/15/2020
  • Chip endorsed the introduced automated billing system which has reduced our outstanding dues by almost 100%.
  • For 2020, Chip recommends cosmetic improvements to the interior of the club, an ad campaign commencing March 2020 and making sure the electronic security system is operating correctly. It was not working for part of the year.
  • Pickleball activity is gradually building. Friday night is the most popular session for PB players.
  • The next PB tournament will be 2/28-3/1/2020. Proceeds will be split 50/50 between ATC and the PB Tournament Director.
  • The next tennis UTR tournament is 2/22-2/23/2020.
