Manager /Pro

Tim reported the West Albany girls tennis team tied for 1st at State.  South Albany was represented by one singles player and 2 doubles teams.  Junior players from ATC making it to State included Michael Baumgartner, Megan Resiter, Scott Beers, Alex Ordeman  , Justin Borst, Amy Trower, Danica Lee, Melissa Fortier, and Kendra Patton.

Tim will be meeting with Liberty School May 21st to discuss PE classes.

Curt Wheeler and Michael Baumgartner will be helping Tim with the summer program which will start June 15th.  There will be 5 classes starting at 9:30am Monday through Thursday.

The wind screens will be put up by the start of the summer program.  Tim is waiting for a price quote from Wilson for new windscreens and nets.  New nets run about $120.  Can ATC do any maintenance on the outdoor nets to help increase their life?  It was suggested to call a local company, Bussard, to see if they can help.

New members include the following:

Summer:  Brandon Kedrick, Alan King family, Donna and Tim Holt Cook, Kim and Jake Pigg, Jim and Erica Morgan,

Trial:  Dennis Dahlen, Cindy Bits, Angie and Scott Lepman (the 1st 6 months are on ATC, they bid at the school auction for lessons), Christina Niscanen.

Equity:  Kay Denny, Terry and Nadine Wood.

            Junior:  Kyle Ball

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the new members.

Tennis Committee

Dick reported the Salem/ATC women’s 4.0 team will be going to Districts May 31st.  The ATC Senior men’s 4.0 will be going to Sectionals as well as the Senior mixed team.

Several revisions were made to the ATC high school policy (revisions in red):

The following are the Albany Tennis Club’s rules and regulations for use of the club’s tennis facilities by high schools.

A.       Albany Tennis Club members will have priority on one outdoor court during non-match times Monday through Friday.

B.     Teams will be responsible for keeping the court premises clean after all practices and matches.

C.     Teams will be responsible for keeping the outside gate entrance secure and locked at the end of the practices.

D.     The court times available for use are from 3:00 to 5:15, Monday through Friday.  Contact the club manager to schedule other matches.

E.      Usage must be scheduled through the ATC manager.

F.      Any accidents or injuries on ATC facilities are the responsibility of the high school.

G.     Indoor court usage may be requested by the high school tennis coach on a special needs basis through the ATC manager.

Tim will talk to the high school Athletic Directors to make sure section F is legally binding and if we need a letter/waiver from the school before practice can start.  Tim and Dick will work on the revisions.

Finance

Tom reported we have statements but they are not quite the format we wanted.

Total Income:  Income:    $51,695

                        Expenses: $44,306

                     Net Income:  $7389

The current Edward Jones account:   $32,747.18

                                                Cash:   $14,227.00

                        Total current assets:  $46,813.18

Tom has several bids for refinancing.  Anything that is less than 8% would be good.  The consensus was to have Tom proceed with getting bids, and then get back in touch with the Board.

Grounds

Laura will call Jon Bell to check on the status of the keyless entry system..

The tiling projects are almost complete.  The women’s restroom is scheduled for completion May 20th.

Laura will call Bob Schueller regarding the cost for installation, etc for the light sensors.

Swim Committee

The pool water looks great.  All systems are working well.  Tim and Dale will be meeting with the pool staff May 21st, just prior to opening on Memorial Day weekend.

Dale is looking at getting several new tables, chairs, and benches.  Some of the chair padding needs to be replaced. Tom and Greg volunteered to build several new benches.

Glen will be getting lumber to repair the lifeguard chair.

Egil brought up he would like an “adult” lap swim time at 11:30.  Should the Board set an adult swim time so Dale can get it in the pool rules?  A motion was made, seconded, and approved to have an adult lap swim time Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00pm.  If an adult comes during that time they will have priority.  After the first month usage will be monitored and reevaluated.  The lifeguards will keep track of usage.

Tim is having a sign made so the pool sign-in can be monitored better.

Regarding the ATC website, Dale reported he has sent the link to Sheila and has asked for the password.  Dale would like to have it online as soon as possible.  To view the link to ATC, go to burrowsmob.org and click on “prototype”.  Egil says there is nothing on the current website.  Dale pulled up the website for viewing after the Board meeting was over.

Laura adjourned the meeting at 9:08pm.
